Neurogenesis happens when our thoughts and words to help build the pathways—called neural circuits or branches. This is called Neuroplasticity.
Simply put, we can choose our thoughts and think things on purpose. In other words, I don’t have to just think about whatever falls into my mind!
Romans 12:2 is one of the foundational scriptures of my life. It says, Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal (reneu) of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect (ESV).
As your mind is being renewed, you’ll be able to recognize thoughts that don’t agree with God’s Word. When they come, you can take them “captive into the obedience of Christ.” In other words, you can throw aside any thought that doesn’t line up with the Word and replace it with the truth.
You can begin at any time to accept or reject what message is presented to you. The choice is yours!
